At what age did you start playing baseball and how did you get into baseball?
I started playing tee ball at 5. My dad is a huge baseball fan so he's a big reason I started playing.
How would you describe your game to someone who has never seen you play?
I would say that I am more "old school". I love the battle between hitter and pitcher. I like to think that I use my brain when I pitch more than others.
What sport would you play if you did not play baseball and why?
Hockey because I can't skate. To me skating seems impossible, so to be able to do it and play a sport at the same time would be cool.
What is one thing that someone wouldn't know about you?
I played the saxophone for seven years. My dad is a musician, so growing up around music like I did made me want to play like him.
Who is your biggest role model and why?
I would say my dad is my biggest role model. Anytime I have to make a decision I think about what he would do. He's always been what I wanted to be, and he's the reason I am who I am.
Who was your favorite baseball player growing up or who is someone that you model your game after?
Roy Halladay was my favorite pitcher growing up. He's the reason I wear 34, and was a big reason that I fell in love with pitching.
