Bio
Brennan Bechard joined the Kansas basketball staff as a graduate student manager in August 2009. In 2010 he was named graduate assistant coach. In his current role, Bechard works with the day-to-day operations of the KU program in the office, with travel, scouting and on the floor. An invited walk-on who lettered three seasons at Kansas from 2007-09, Bechard saw action in 35 games and started his final home game in Allen Fieldhouse against Texas. He appeared in five postseason contests for the Jayhawks. In his three seasons at Kansas, Bechard earned three championship rings. The guard was a member of the 2008 NCAA National Championship team, three Big 12 regular-season title squads and two Big 12 tournament title teams. Additionally, Kansas advanced to two NCAA Elite Eights (2007, 2008), three Sweet 16s and one Final Four with Bechard wearing the Crimson and Blue. Bechard came to Kansas from Barton County Community College where he played in 2005-06. A native of Lawrence, Kan., Bechard graduated from KU in spring 2009 with a degree in sport management. He was named to the Athletics Director[apos]s and Big 12 Commissioner[apos]s honor rolls his sophomore year. Bechard[apos]s father, Ray, is the head volleyball coach at Kansas and his sister, Ashley, was a four-year volleyball letterwinner at KU from 2001-04.
