LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas volleyball was unable to secure its second victory of the Kansas Invitational on Friday night as it fell in straight sets to visiting Arizona inside Horejsi Family Volleyball Arena.
Kansas and Arizona opened the contest with two highly contested sets, each ending in a 25-21 score in favor of the Wildcats.
Down two sets, the Jayhawks were in need of a rally to pull off the come from behind win. The set went down to the wire with both teams tied at 23. However, it was the Wildcats who would be able to score the final two points to secure the 25-23 set and match victory.
A trio of Jayhawks led the way on the night, with seniors Zoe Hill and Ashley Smith along with sophomore Rachel Langs, each finishing with six kills. Junior Sara Nielsen finished with 26 assists, while Allie Nelson had a team-high eight digs.

The Jayhawks are scheduled to finish the Kansas Invitational on Sunday (Sept. 15) against Syracuse at 1 p.m. at Horejsi Family Volleyball Arena.
