LUBBOCK, TEXASÂ - No. 8Â Kansas Volleyball is set to travel to Lubbock to take on the Texas Tech Red Raiders inside United Supermarkets Arena Wednesday night, with first serve set for 6 p.m.Â
"We're playing a Texas Tech team that is coming off a couple solid road wins who is playing well," said Kansas Head Coach Ray Bechard. "It will be another great opportunity for us to face a competitive environment on the road."
The Jayhawks come into the mid-week match with an 18-1 overall record, as well as an undefeated run in conference play at 9-0. Kansas most recently topped Iowa State in four sets last Wednesday and then swept then 21st-ranked Utah at Horejsi Family Volleyball Arena last Saturday. The Jayhawks are 6-0 in road contests this season, and they have not dropped a road match since November 10, 2023.Â
Texas Tech marches into Wednesday's contest winners of two in a row, but aside from last week, the Red Raiders have struggled in Big 12 play, with a 3-6 record. Last week, Texas Tech won two five-set thrillers both on the road, topping Cincinnati and West Virginia respectively. Texas Tech is 4-2 inside United Supermarkets Arena this season, and they hold an 11-10 record overall.Â
Kansas and Texas Tech will meet for the 57th time on the volleyball court Wednesday night, with Kansas holding the lead in the overall matchup history 38-18. Kansas has a 17-12 record against the Red Raiders in Lubbock, and the Jayhawks have won seven of the last 10 against Texas Tech.Â
