LAWRENCE, KAN. - No. 8 Kansas Volleyball is set to host the West Virginia Mountaineers inside Horejsi Family Volleyball Arena Saturday afternoon, with first serve set for 1 p.m.
Kansas comes into the Saturday matchup still unbeaten in Big 12 play, as the team has rattled off 10 straight wins since the start of conference play. During that stretch, the Jayhawks have swept their opponents in five of those matches. Most recently, Kansas completed a successful road trip to Lubbock, by taking down Texas Tech 3-1 at United Supermarkets Arena.
West Virginia comes into Lawrence winners of two of their last three matches in Big 12 play, but the Mountaineers did not get things started off on the right foot, as the team started conference play 0-6. Since then, the Mountaineers have found their stride, as they defeated Colorado and UCF to collect their first pair of wins in conference play.
The Jayhawks and the Mountaineers have met 27 times on the volleyball court, with the most recent matchup coming in Morgantown earlier this year. Kansas has taken 21 of the 27 matchups with West Virginia, and the Jayhawks are currently riding a five match winning streak against the Mountaineers.
After the match, former Kansas Volleyball standout Josi Lima (2002-2005) will be having her jersey retired in the banners of the Horejsi Family Volleyball Arena. This will kick off with an alumni event on the mezzanine starting at 3:30 p.m.Â
Saturday's match will be broadcast on ESPN+. Fans can also follow along through StatBroadcast or by following the Kansas Volleyball X Account for live updates throughout the match. Â
