LAWRENCE, Kan. - The No. 11 Kansas Volleyball team will take on the Lipscomb Bison on Sunday afternoon inside Horjesi Family Volleyball Arena. First serve is slated for 12:30 p.m.
"We're excited to host a Lipscomb team that historically is one of the top teams in the Atlantic Sun conference, and this year will be no exception," said Kansas Head Coach Ray Bechard.
Kansas comes into the match undefeated and well-rested after a trip to Milwaukee last weekend that resulted in two wins for the Jayhawk - a 3-1 victory over then 24th-ranked Marquette and a sweep of 2023 MAC Champion Western Michigan. Kansas will also look to maintain its recent success at home, as the team has won 14 of its last 15 matches inside Horjesi Family Volleyball Arena.
Lipscomb comes into Sunday's match after a busy week as the Bison will have played three matches total before making the trip to Lawrence. The Bison defeated Belmont in Nashville on Monday, sweeping the Bruins on their home floor. Lipscomb will also take part in the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas Classic in Manhattan, as the Bison will take on Kansas State on Thursday, and will follow with North Carolina on Saturday.Â
Kansas and Lipscomb have met five times on the volleyball court all time, with Kansas taking four of those five matches. Most recently, the Jayhawks topped the Bison in a sweep on September 15th, 2022. Kansas has won their last two meetings with Lipscomb, both in the fashion of a sweep.
Sunday's match will be streamed on ESPN+ with Leif Lisec and Jill Dorsey-Hall on the call. Fans can follow along by the
