LAWRENCE, Kan. – With the 2025 tennis season just around the corner, Kansas women's tennis was ranked eighth in the Big 12 Conference Preseason Poll, the conference announced on Tuesday.

The Big 12 Preseason Poll was led by Oklahoma State, receiving 15 first place votes, followed by Baylor, UCF, Arizona State and Texas Tech to round out the top-five.

As voted on by the league's coaches, the preseason poll comes after the Jayhawks finished the 2023-24 season with a 10-14 record and a 6-4 home record with wins over No. 35 BYU, Houston and Iowa State, among others. The Jayhawks were ranked seventh entering the 2023-24 season and has been ranked as high as second in 2019.

The Jayhawks return a talented team in 2024-25, including 2024 All-Big 12 freshman team honoree,
Kyoka Kubo and 2023 All-Big 12 honorees
Heike Janse Van Vuuren and
Maria Titova.
Gracie Mulville and van Vuuren finished the fall season ranked No. 53 in the ITA Doubles rankings. Â

Kansas also returns senior
Jasmine Adams, freshmen
Meriem Ben Ezzedine and
Simryn Jacob, while welcoming newcomers Yerkezhan Arystanbekova and Anna Putilina. Kansas is led by head coach
Todd Chapman, who enters his 12
th season as the Jayhawks' head coach.

Kansas will open its 2025 season at the Battle at Indian Wells held in Indian Wells, Calif., from Jan. 16-18, 2025. Kansas will then host seven straight home matches from Jan. 24 to Feb. 7, including matchups with Kansas City, Creighton, Iowa, Omaha, Wichita State, Wisconsin and Arkansas.
