LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas soccer freshman
Jordan Rowan received her first career Big 12 weekly honor as she was chosen as the Big 12 Co-Freshman of the Week, the conference office announced Wednesday.
A native of Madison, Ohio, Rowan scored her fourth goal of the season against then-No. 24 West Virginia on Oct. 16. Her goal in the 29th minute tied the match at 1-1 after West Virginia took an early lead. Rowan ranks third on the team in goals scored this season with four and is tied for fourth in points with nine. She leads all Kansas freshmen in both categories as well.
Rowan is the 26th Jayhawk in program history to receive Big 12 Freshman of the Week honors. She joins Mary Sola, who was awarded Big Co-Freshman of the Week on Sept. 3, Caroline Castans, who earned Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 24, and Becca Smith, who received Big 12 Freshman of the Week on Oct. 8, to garner conference honors this year.
Kansas (10-3-3, 4-3-1 Big 12) will travel to Provo, Utah, to match up against BYU on Thursday, Oct. 23. The match is slated for 8 p.m. CT and will be broadcast on ESPN+.
