Lawrence Kan. – The Kansas softball team is back on the road for a four-game slate in San Marcos, Texas, where they will face Texas State and Southern Illinois from Feb. 22-24. The Jayhawks look to build on their strong performance at the Wilson Invitational in Long Beach, California, where they finished 3-1 over the weekend.
Â
"We have another opportunity to match up against two solid programs that both went to the postseason last year," Head Coach
Jennifer McFalls said. "It will be a good challenge for us to continue building off last weekend. I thought we made some good strides in California, so hopefully, we will keep moving in a positive direction."

The Jayhawks hold a two-game winning streak heading into the weekend and look to continue the streak across the four games with hopes of going undefeated against their opponents.

In the Wilson Invitational Tournament, the Jayhawks delivered strong performances across all four games. Their biggest win came against Southern Utah, where they secured an 8-1 victory. Kansas' most impressive win came in the final game of the tournament against Long Beach State. The Jayhawks battled back from a 2-0 deficit, with the game coming down to the bottom of the seventh inning to secure the win. Junior
Lizzy Ludwig played a crucial role as a relief pitcher, stepping up in a high-pressure moment. With the bases loaded, she fielded her position to force an out at home, leading to a double play turned by freshman catcher
Bailey Amezcua, preventing any runs from scoring and securing the 3-2 victory.

At the plate, Kansas is led by three players batting over .400. Junior
Aynslee Linduff leads the team with a .483 batting average, tallying 14 hits, including three doubles. Junior
