LAWRENCE, Kan. - The Kansas women's tennis team will begin Big 12 Conference play as they hit the road for two matches against No. 13 Texas Tech on Friday and No. 72 Colorado on Sunday.
Play in Lubbock, Texas will begin at 5 p.m. CT on Friday, Feb. 28, and play in Boulder, Colorado will begin at 3 p.m. CT on Sunday, March 2.
No. 42 Kansas will look to get back in the win column, as the Jayhawks dropped a close 4-3 match against No. 33 Northwestern last Sunday. The two weekend matches will be the second and third straight ranked matches for Kansas.
Gracie Mulville, ranked No. 102 for the second week in a row, sports a 6-2 record to lead the Jayhawks. Kyoka Kubo (5-3) and Anna Putilina (5-2) both have reached five wins on the season. The pair of Mulville and Heike Janse van Vuuren have a strong 8-2 record this season.
The Jayhawks played the Red Raiders twice last season in Santa Barbara, California and Lawrence, but dropped both matches with the same score, 4-3.Â
