TCU sprinted out to a 9-0 lead in the first two innings and never looked back. Dominic Voegele suffered the loss after he was tagged for 10 runs in five innings of work. Kansas fell to 27-8 overall this season and 9-4 in conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• TCU (26-9, 9-4 Big 12) jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the first inning. Sawyer Strosnider hit an RBI triple down the right field line and Cole Cramer had an RBI infield single.
• The Horned Frogs poured on seven more runs in the second inning to stretch out their lead. The inning included a two-run homer by Jack Bell and a three-run blast from Chase Brunson. The big inning made it a 9-0 game.
• A sacrifice fly from Nolan Traeger in the fifth inning brought the score to 10-0.
• Cerda got the Jayhawks on the scoreboard in the sixth inning with a solo home run to right field.
• TCU added two more runs in both the sixth and seventh innings. That pushed it to a 14-1 game.

QUOTABLES & NOTABLES
"We talk all the time about persevering and it's for opportunities like this where we're forced to. We've proven all year to be able to play quality baseball. We've treated each day as its own. I told the guys they can be frustrated about this one until we get back to the hotel and then it's on to tomorrow. Had we beat them 14-1 I would have said enjoy it until you go to bed. You play 56 games and it's a marathon. If you're a sprinter this game is tough, but just look at it as clicking miles, keep it simple." – Head Coach Dan Fitzgerald
Â
• Kansas tied the single-season program record with 75 home runs this season. The record was set in 2006 and matched in 2023, the first year under Fitzgerald.
• Michael Brooks stretched his on-base streak to 24 games. That is the longest on-base streak by a Jayhawk since Chase Jans had a 24-game on-base streak during the 2023 season.
• Cerda hit his seventh home run of the season. He has reached base safely in each of the last 14 games.
• Hauge extended his on-base streak to 21 games.
• Ballinger had his 14-game hitting streak snapped.
