LINCOLN, Neb. – No. 23 Kansas baseball will be on the road this week beginning with a matchup at Nebraska on Tuesday night at Hawks Field at Haymarket Park. First pitch is scheduled for 6:05 p.m. CT.
Â
Kansas (31-10) has at least 30 wins in back-to-back seasons for the first time since 2013 and 2014. The Jayhawks have already matched their win total from the 2024 season with 15 regular season games to go. Through 41 games, Kansas has its best record since 1993, when the Jayhawks were 32-9. The 1993 season is the only year Kansas has ever made the College World Series.
Â
The Jayhawks recorded their first series sweep against Kansas State this past weekend since 2019. Kansas won three games in two days as the schedule was shifted to play a doubleheader on Saturday. KU now has six series sweeps this season (at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, at Tarleton State, vs. Milwaukee, vs. Oklahoma State, at UCF, vs. Kansas State).
Â
KU currently leads the way in the Big 12 in multiple offensive categories. That includes walks (third nationally), home runs (seventh nationally), runs (13th nationally), slugging percentage (13th nationally), on-base percentage and total bases. Kansas is also 21st in the country in hits and 22nd in the nation in runs per game.
Â
Nebraska (19-21) has won four of its last five games, including a series win against Northwestern last weekend. The Cornhuskers are hitting .269 as a team this season and have a 5.59 ERA as a pitching staff. Tucker Timmerman will get the start for Nebraska on Tuesday. Timmerman holds a 2.57 ERA with seven strikeouts while allowing just two runs on five hits across seven innings.

SERIES HISTORY
Kansas and Nebraska have a long history that dates back to 1892. Nebraska currently leads the all-time series 144-104-1. The teams played earlier this season with Nebraska winning 7-5 on April 8 in Lawrence. Last season, Kansas won both games in the season series. After Nebraska left the conference in 2011, the teams had only met once between 2012 and 2023. Kansas defeated #20 Nebraska by a score of 13-11 in the Buck O'Neil Classic on April 9 in Lawrence and then beat the Cornhuskers 9-4 on April 23 in Lincoln.
