CARLSBAD, Calif. – Kansas graduate Gunnar Broin earned a spot on the NCAA Division I PING All-Central Region Team, the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) recently announced.
A recent University of Kansas graduate and Shorewood, Minnesota native, Broin earned All-Region honors after posting a 70.83 scoring average in 2024-25, the lowest single-season mark at KU since at least 1986-87.
"This is a great and deserving honor for Gunnar," said Kansas head coach Jamie Bermel. "He played very consistently all year and got his first collegiate win at Sea Island."
Broin led the Jayhawks as the top finisher in seven of the team's 13 events this season, recording nine top-20 finishes, four top-10s and three top-5s. He captured his first collegiate title at the Sea Island Invitational on March 18.
Broin recorded 13 rounds in the 60s this season, highlighted by a season-low 64 in the final round at Sea Island to secure his first collegiate win. A three-year Jayhawk, Broin improved his scoring average to 70.83 in 2024-25, a 1.17-stroke improvement from his previous best of 72.00 in 2022-23.
Last season, former Jayhawk Cecil Belisle was named to the PING All-Central Region Team.
Players across six regions and 82 schools earned all-region honors in 2025.
