Jayhawks Wrap Up The 2025 Outdoor Season on Final Day of NCAA Nationals

EUGENE, ORE. - The Kansas Track & Field team finished up their 2025 Outdoor season at NCAA Nationals, where 5 Jayhawks were First Team All-Americans.Â
"It was a very exciting NCAA Championship, it lets you know where you stand, it lets you know where you need to get better, and it lets you know where you're doing well. I think as a team, there's always room to grow and get better. As I said yesterday, I think where we were, how our Men's team finished, I think we can continue to grow on the Women's side," Said Kansas Head Coach Stanley Redwine.
On the last day of NCAA Nationals, Junior Sonya Sluchaninova finished 12th in the Women's Discus. Sluchaninova finishes her junior season as a Jayhawk with a Second Team All-American.
The Jayhawks were headlined this week by their Pole Vault teams where they had 3 podium finishers between the two teams; Ashton Barkdull jumped 3 PRs of 5.73m to take 2nd in the Men's Pole Vault, where his little brother, Bryce Barkdull, tied for 5th place, where he also jumped a new PR of 5.53m. In the Women's Pole Vault Senior Erica Ellis finished off her Kansas career tied for 4th with a mark of 4.44m.Â
In the Men's Discus, Dimitrios Pavlidis finished off his Jayhawk career as a back-to-back First Team All-American, where he took 3rd last season and 6th this season in the event. The Greek International, where he is also the School Record holder, and broke the Greek National Record twice during his time as a Jayhawk.Â
Alexander Jung also ended his Kansas career, where he won 7th overall in the men's decathlon. Jung broke his own School Record with a point total of 7746 on his way to the podium. The German also holds the Men's Indoor Heptathlon School Record as well.
The Kansas Men's Track & Field Team finished 16th overall with 16.5 points at the National meet, where the Women's Team took 48th with 4.5 points scored.Â
