LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas senior golfer
Amy DeKock secured first collegiate win at the Jayhawk Invitational at The Jayhawk Club Monday. The Kansas women's team finished the event in second place with a score of 889 (+25).Â

ULM won the Jayhawk Invitational with a final three-round score of 879 (+15), followed by Kansas (+25), UT Arlington (+49), Wichita State (+54), and Longwood (+61) to round out the top five in the 10-team field.Â

Lindsay Kuhle said. "It will help us work harder for our next tournament. We are very proud of
Amy DeKock for winning her first tournament. I think this is going to open the gates for her as a senior this season, and hopefully she can win a few more."

On Monday, DeKock had her best round of the tournament, carding three birdies on her final nine holes, to finish with a 72 (E). DeKock ended the tournament with scores of 74-73-72 (+3), which was good enough to tie for first, giving DeKock her first collegiate win of her career. DeKock tied ULM's Daniela Campillo Martinez for medalist honors in the 58-golfer field.

Lyla Louderbaugh carded three birdies and her first eagle of the season on a 279 par-4 16th hole. Louderbaugh finished the tournament with scores of 74-73-74 (+5) and tied for third place individually. Jayhawk senior
Anna Wallin finished the tournament with scores of 75-73-75 (+7) and notched her first top 10 finish with a tie for seventh place.Â

All of the Kansas newcomers had impressive outings at the Jayhawk Invitational both days, with three golfers finishing inside the top 20 with sophomores
Jillian Fatkin,
Zoe Pinillos, and freshmen
Kinslea Jones and
Marieke Ebens. Fatkin finished the tournament with scores of 76-74-78 (+12) and tied for 14th place, while Jones went 74-76-79 (+13) and tied for 17th place.Â

Pinillos and Ebens both competed as individuals for the tournament. Pinillos tied for 19th with scores of 76-78-76 (+14), and Ebens tied for 45th place with scores of 79-88-81 (+32).Â
