LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas women's tennis will take to the road for the first time this season, as the team will travel to Wichita State for a Sunday afternoon match at the Sheldon Coleman Tennis Complex. Action is set to begin at 1 p.m. CT.Â
The Jayhawks come into the match with a 3-1 record after falling to No. 21 Clemson on Sunday, Feb. 1. Kansas will look to get back on track after starting the season with three straight wins. Wichita State currently sits at 6-3 on the season.
Kansas features multiple ranked players in this weeks' ITA rankings. Kyoka Kubo is ranked at No. 25 in singles after starting the season 4-0, following her quarterfinal appearance in the NCAA Singles Championships last fall. Kubo joins Heike Janse van Vuuren in the doubles rankings, as they are ranked No. 58 after also starting the season 4-0. Van Vuuren is also ranked with Meg McCarty in the doubles rankings at No. 73, but the duo has not played a match together this season.
