LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas is back home to start a season-long six-game homestand with a midweek contest against Missouri. Tuesday's game will be the Buck O'Neil Classic, a night created to pay homage to Buck O'Neil and the Negro Leagues. Kansas will be donning its uniforms designed after the Kansas City Monarchs
"We're excited to be back home in front of our fans on Tuesday," head coach
Dan Fitzgerald said. "The Buck O'Neil Classic is always a special night and we're looking forward to celebrating it once again this season."
Kansas has started the season with an 11-8 overall record and the eight road wins are tied for the third most in the country. The Jayhawks are first in the Big 12 (tied for sixth nationally) in sacrifice flies (15) and third in the conference in walks (117).

Osoria hit his three homers in the second, fourth and fifth innings. He finished the game 4-for-5 with three home runs, a double, five RBIs and a career-high four runs scored.
Missouri (15-5) got out to its best start since the 2017 season by winning 15 of its first 17 games, including a 13-game winning streak. The Tigers earned series sweeps against New Haven, Arkansas – Pine Bluff, North Dakota State and UIC. Missouri has hit .310 as a team this season and owns a 4.13 ERA.
