LAWRENCE, Kan. –The Kansas men's golf team has added Nicolas Vidal Reig of Spain to the program's 2026 signing class, head coach Jamie Bermel announced Monday.
Vidal Reig is the No. 2 ranked player in Spain, while also being a member and representative of the Spanish National Team. Reig has multiple top 10 finishes in his career, including a third-place finish in 2026 at the Copa Andalucia Masculina, a fifth-place finish in 2025 at the Spanish Men's Amateur, and a ninth-place finish in 2025 at the Spanish International U18 Boys. Reig also has two career wins, topping the field in 2026 at the Cope Region de Murcia, and in 2025 at the Canarian Junior Championship.
"Nicolas is a late addition to the team. We had a spot open up late, and we believe we took full advantage of the situation and landed a really nice player." Coach Bermel said. "I think Nicolas can come in and have a chance to compete right away for a spot on the travel team. He has made a lot of progress in the last 12 months. He is ranked second in Spain U18 and continues to improve. We really believe his best golf is still in front of him."
Vidal Reig joins Jack Swift and Brady Rapp in the 2026 signing class.
The Kansas men's golf team is set to return to action on March 9-10, traveling to Sea Island, Georgia to compete in the Sea Island Invitational at the Seaside Golf Course.
