MANHATTAN, Kan. – No. 16 Kansas Baseball will make the 85-mile trek this weekend to play Kansas State in a three-game series at Tointon Family Stadium. The series is set to begin on Friday evening at 6 p.m. CT.
Â
"Our guys will certainly be prepared for the environment," head coach
Dan Fitzgerald said. "I think we'll be prepared baseball wise because we've played a really tough slate. The guys will be fired up. It's a great Kansas State team and obviously an in-state rival. It's something we're really looking forward to."
Â
Kansas (30-11, 14-4 Big 12) has won 14 of its last 15 games and 20 of its last 23 contests, including 14 of the last 16 Big 12 matchups. The Jayhawks are currently in first place in the Big 12 standings with a two-game lead on West Virginia. It's the best Big 12 start for Kansas in program history.
Â
On Tuesday night at Hoglund Ballpark, Kansas completed a regular season sweep of No. 20 Nebraska with a 9-7 victory in front of a standing room only crowd of 2,674 fans, a new attendance record. The win was the 20th comeback victory of the year and pushed Kansas past the 30-win plateau for the third consecutive season, marking the first time since 2008-10.
Â
KU claimed its fifth consecutive conference series win last weekend at Oklahoma State. That's the longest streak of Big 12 series wins in program history. The series win in Stillwater was also the first in school history.
Â
The Jayhawks are the only team in the Big 12 with at least 70 regular season wins over the last two seasons. Kansas is one of seven programs nationally with 72 or more regular season wins between the 2025 and 2026 seasons combined.
Â
Kansas State (26-15, 9-9 Big 12) is returning home after a week in Arizona. The Wildcats won two out of three games in a weekend series at Arizona and won a midweek at Grand Canyon.
