KU scored three runs in the first two innings to build a 3-0 lead. Similar to the past two games, BYU tied the game up at 3-3. The Cougars scored a run in the bottom of the eighth to take a 4-3 lead, but Kansas was able to tie it with a sacrifice fly in the ninth. In the 11th inning, BYU's Ryder Robinson hit a walk-off solo homer to win it. Kansas stranded 14 runners on base in the game.
Â
Mathis Nayral made the start and gave the Jayhawks exactly the outing they needed. Nayral allowed only one run over five innings and recorded nine strikeouts. Manning West threw two scoreless innings of relief. Kannon Carr had thrown three scoreless innings before the walk-off homer.

QUOTABLES & NOTABLES
"We stranded too many runners and they stranded a bunch too. I think that can be a sign of good offense and can also be a sign of good pitching. I think we saw a little bit of all of that today. They're a good offensive team and it takes a lot to hold them down. We made a decision today to limit the guys out of our bullpen. We needed to get some other guys some work. Obviously, we're thrilled to be coming out of here with a championship. It's another game we can learn from." – Head Coach Dan Fitzgerald
Â
• Kansas won the Big 12 Conference regular season title outright. It's the first regular season conference championship for Kansas since 1949 as a member of the Big Seven and the fourth regular season conference championship in school history (1923, 1924, 1949).
• Kansas moved to 39-16 overall this season and finished Big 12 play with a 22-8 record.
• Kansas ended the regular season with 22 conference victories, a new school record. The Jayhawks set the program record last season with 20 conference victories.
• Kansas won its eighth conference series of the season to set a new school record. The previous record was set last season with seven conference series wins.
• Kansas has at least 39 wins in back-to-back seasons for the first time since 1993-94 and only the second time in program history.
• Soliz Jr. hit his fifth home run of the season.
