OMAHA, Neb. – No. 7 Kansas Baseball begins its first week ever ranked in the Top 10 with a midweek game against Creighton on Tuesday at Charles Schwab Field Omaha, home of the Men's College World Series. This will be the sixth time Kansas has played in the ballpark, formerly known as TD Ameritrade Park, with the most recent time coming back in 2018.
Â
"Tuesday is going to be another great midweek challenge against a regional opponent," head coach
Dan Fitzgerald said. "It's a great opportunity for us to continue to get better."
Â
Kansas (37-11, 20-4 Big 12) has won 10 straight games, 21 of the last 22 and 27 of its last 30 contests. The Jayhawks have the most wins of any Big 12 team this season and 18 of the 37 victories have come on the road. The 18 road wins are tied for the third most in the country.
Â
KU swept Arizona this past weekend to maintain control of first place in the Big 12 standings, currently with a 4-game lead. In the process, Kansas matched its program record for the most conference wins in a season with 20. Kansas has 20 conference wins in back-to-back seasons for the first time in school history. It's the first Big 12 program with at least 20 wins in consecutive seasons since Nebraska in 2000 and 2001.
Â
The Jayhawks also have 37 wins in back-to-back seasons for the first time since 1993-94 and only the second time in program history. KU is one eight Division I programs and the only school in the Big 12 with 37 or more wins this season.
Â
Kansas is ranked No. 7 in the Top 25 this week by D1Baseball, No. 8 by The Athletic and No. 9 by Baseball America, USA Today and the NCBWA. The No. 7 ranking is the highest in school history.
Â
Creighton (26-19, 11-4 BIG EAST) enters the week following a series loss at St. John's. A win in Sunday's finale at St. John's kept the Bluejays tied atop the conference standings. The lone common opponent that Kansas and Creighton have this season is Nebraska, and the Bluejays dropped a pair of one-run games to the Cornhuskers. As a team, Creighton is hitting .279 and their pitching staff has posted a 5.71 ERA.

[DOM]INATE PERFORMANCE
Dominic Voegele was named the Big 12 Co-Pitcher of the Week on Monday. Voegele tossed his first career complete game on Friday night in KU's 4-2 win against Arizona. He allowed six hits and two runs while matching his career high with 15 strikeouts, a mark he previously set 13 days prior on April 18 at Oklahoma State.
Â
Voegele retired the final 10 batters he faced and 14 of the last 15, which concluded with two strikeouts in the ninth inning. Voegele has now recorded double-digit strikeouts five times in his career and he's the only Division I pitcher with at least 15 strikeouts in multiple games this season. He is also one of just three pitchers nationally to throw a nine-inning complete game with 15 or more strikeouts this season.
Â
SERIES HISTORY
Kansas and Creighton have played on 44 occasions all-time, with the Bluejays holding a 26-18 edge in the series. Despite the advantage in the series, Kansas has won six of the last seven meetings between the two teams. KU played Creighton in the Fayetteville Regional last season and dropped the game 11-4. The previous six matchups that Kansas won all happened in Lawrence. The last time the teams played in Omaha was 2018.
