2012: Academic All-Big 12 First Team
2012: Junior Season
Started one match and played in 25 overall… Switched to the defensive specialist position prior to the start of the season and adjusted very well… Finished the year with 65 digs and six service aces… Tallied a career-high 13 digs in KU’s victory over RV Tulsa (8/31)… Was solid defensively with 12 digs on the road at No. 22 Iowa State (10/24)… Racked up an assist, an ace and eight digs to help the Jayhawks defeat No. 16 Kansas State in Manhattan (11/7)… Dug eight balls again in the first round of the NCAA Tournament against Cleveland State (11/30).
2011: Sophomore Season
Appeared in four matches at outside hitter for the Jayhawks… Recorded two digs on the season, one in the match at DePaul (9/17) and the other against Iowa State (9/28)… Landed a career-best two aces against DePaul (9/17).
2010: Freshman Season
Came off the bench as an outside hitter and appeared in 14 matches for the Jayhawks… A six-rotation player who also saw time in the back row… Dug a season-best five balls in her second appearance of the season versus Akron on Sept. 3… Tallied a season-high two kills in back-to-back contests- versus Winthrop on Sept. 10 and versus Arkansas-Little Rock on Sept. 11… Played all three sets at nationally-ranked Texas on Nov. 19 and recorded four digs and a service ace.
High School
An all-state honorable mention twice at Hampshire High School… Selected to the all-conference team and named all-area by several media outlets all four years… Helped the Whippurs to a runner-up finish at the 2007 state championship, and guided HHS to the regional title in 2006 and 2008… Team won conference her senior season in 2009… Hampshire High[apos]s all-time kills leader, and the single-season record holder for kills and aces… Her 1,332 career kills rank 15th in Illinois state high school history… Club team, Club Fusion, was the 2009 JVDA National Champion… Superior Honor Roll all four years and graduated in the top five percent of her class.
Personal
Daughter of Ron and Allison Wehrs… Has a twin sister, Kara, who is also a member of the Kansas volleyball team… Majoring in exercise science.
