The Jayhawks wrapped up the fall portion of their schedule by recording their top-team finish outside of the Kansas Invitational.
“Brad played really well for us and this is his second straight solid tournament which is a great sign for a freshman golfer,” said head coach Kit Grove. “Now we need to head into a little bit of a break and shore up some things for the spring season.”
Freshman Nate Barbee wrapped up his solid fall season by carding a final-round score of 74 to finish tied for 22nd. Junior Zach Pederson shot a final-day 78 to finish tied for 29th.
Junior Walt Koelbel and sophomore Bobby Knowles both capped off their fall campaigns by shooting final-round scores of 77. Koelbel finished in 50th place, while Knowles tied for 53rd place.
Virginia Tech overcame an 11-stroke deficit to come back and tie Tulsa for team championship honors. Nicholas Geyger of Tulsa did hold onto his individual lead, finishing the tournament with a three-day score of 207.
The Jayhawks will be out of action until they begin the spring portion of their schedule on Feb. 7 when they head to Hawaii to compete in the Hawaii-Hilo Invitational.
