LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas junior
Anna Soles blasted a two-run home run in the bottom of the eighth inning to give KU a 4-2, walk-off, win against Iowa State Saturday afternoon at Arrocha Ballpark.
Celebrating Senior Day, with the victory, Kansas won its sixth Big 12 series of the season and improved to 32-16 (13-8 in Big 12), while Iowa State fell to 28-21 (8-13).
"I love our fight. We didn't panic today," Kansas head coach Jennifer McFalls said. "We got a lot out of a lot of different players. We were there at the end, staying composed and trusting our process.
"It couldn't have happened to a better person than Anna Soles to step up and get the job done," McFalls continued. "I'm so happy for that young lady but most importantly, I'm happy for our seniors."
Trailing 2-0 after four innings and only mustering one hit through the first five frames, Kansas tied the game at 2-2 in the bottom of the sixth. Junior Kadence Stafford started the KU sixth with a walk and later scored on a senior Hailey Cripe two-out single to right field. Senior Campbell Bagshaw then singled to left field, scoring senior Emma Tatum, who was pinch-running for Soles, who had walked prior to Cripe's single.
Two innings later, freshman Ella Boyer walked, then Soles hit her 11th home run of the season, 12th of her career, over the right centerfield fence to give KU the come-from-behind and walk-off win.
In the circle, Lila Partridge threw the two shutout innings to pick up the win, improving to 7-3 on the season, including 5-1 in Big 12 play.

- Iowa State took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning with a solo home run from Tatum Johnson.
- Iowa State added a run in the top of the fourth inning to go up 2-0.

- With it being Senior Day, Kansas honored its seven seniors throughout the contest, including a postgame ceremony. The KU softball seniors include Presley Limbaugh, Campbell Bagshaw, Lizzy Ludwig, Jaeden Murphy, Emma Tatum, Aysnlee Linduff, Hailey Cripe.
- Anna Soles' game-winning home run was her 11th homer of the season and her 12th of her career.
- With her single in the first inning, Presley Limbaugh has reached base safely in 12 straight games, including a current four-game hitting streak.
- In the second inning, catcher Bailey Amezcua posted her sixth caught stealing assist this season.
- Kansas has recorded 333 runs this season, which is the most in a KU single season, surpassing the 331 runs during the 2015 season.
