LAWRENCE, Kan. – The No. 23 Kansas Jayhawks (11-4-2) look to extend their unbeaten streak to five games when they journey to Fort Worth, Texas to take on the TCU Horned Frogs (10-5-1) on Sunday, Oct. 27. Kickoff from Garvey-Rosenthal Stadium is set for 1 p.m., and will be televised on Fox Sports Southwest.

With two matches remaining in league play, the Jayhawks sit in fifth place with 11 points. KU sits behind Oklahoma State, who sits atop the table with 16 points, followed by Texas, Texas Tech and TCU who have collected 15, 14 and 13 points, respectively.
The Jayhawks are coming off a 1-1 draw against West Virginia on Oct. 24 in Lawrence. WVU netted the opening goal in the fifth minute before KU’s Ceri Holland netted the equalizer in the 84th minute.
Kansas is 6-0-1 in matches played on Sundays this season. KU went a combined 5-7-3 on Sundays over the previous two seasons.
Kansas was slotted at No. 17 in the season’s fifth Rating Percentage Index (RPI) released by the NCAA this week. It marked the first time since 2014 that the Jayhawks were slotted in the top-20 of the RPI in five-straight weeks.
The Kansas defense has conceded just one goal in its last four outings, a stretch which spans 428 minutes.
KU’s 32 goals scored this season rank 48th in the NCAA and third in the conference. The figure has already surpassed the goals scored in each of the last four seasons.
Sophomore goalkeeper Sarah Peters was named the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week for the second-consecutive week after posting her third-straight shutouts and seven saves against K-State last week.
Peters’ clean sheet against the Wildcats marked the 16th shutout of her career, a number that moves her to No. 2 on KU’s all-time shutouts list.
Katie McClure recently moved to No. 2 on KU’s all-time points list. The senior forward has amassed 80 points via her 33 goals and 14 career assists.
Since 2014, the Jayhawks are 50-2-1 in matches in which they score two or more goals. This includes a 16-1-0 mark since the start of the 2018 season, with the lone blemish coming in the 5-2 loss to OSU three weeks ago.
The KU defense has amassed a goals-against average of 0.80 after its first 16 outings, a number that ranks the Jayhawks third in the Big 12.

STORYLINES

OVERTIME = OUR TIME
After enduring their third overtime in its last four outings, the Jayhawks are once again putting up solid performances when the match goes to extra time. Following KU’s draw with West Virginia Thursday, the Jayhawks are 10-3-13 in their last 26 contests that have gone past the 90th minute. This stretch dates back to the 2015 season. Kansas has netted 10 golden goals in this span, which includes six over the last two seasons. The Jayhawks have been on the wrong end of a golden goal just three times during this four-year stretch and only once in the 12 overtime matches it has played since the start the of 2018.
LET’S GET DEFENSIVE
The Jayhawks have proven to be a stout defensive team, carrying over the trend from their last several seasons. Kansas currently boasts a goals-against average of 0.80 this season, which encompasses eight shutouts in those its 17 outings. The Jayhawks are allowing less than four opponent shots on goal per match. KU has already put together several impressive shutout streaks to start this season. The Jayhawks recently wrapped up their longest shutout streak of the season, a 323-minute stretch. KU has now tallied five opponent scoreless streaks of 300 minutes or more in the last five seasons.
LATE MATCH MAGIC
The Jayhawks have been a clutch bunch so far this season, a trend which they have carried over from a year ago. Kansas has netted 11 goals in the final 15 minutes of regulation or overtime, four of which have been game-winners. This includes a pair of late-match heroics over the last four games. Mandi Duggan netted the golden goal in KU’s 1-0 win at Oklahoma on Oct. 10 and Ceri Holland scored an equalizing goal in the 84th minute in the Jayhawks’ 1-1 draw with West Virginia on Oct. 24. The Jayhawks were also clutch in crunch time during the 2018 campaign. Thirteen of the Jayhawks’ 28 goals scored came in the 60th minute or later. That number included 10 goals Kansas tallied in the final 10 minutes of regulation or in overtime.
