LAWRENCE, Kan. – The Kansas baseball team will play 54 games in 2025, head coach
Dan Fitzgerald announced on Thursday. The 2025 schedule features 27 home games in Lawrence at Hoglund Ballpark, along with 30 Big 12 Conference games.
Â
"We have a great non-conference schedule that will challenge and prepare us for an always tough Big 12 regular season," Fitzgerald said. "We really like our team's makeup and competitive nature. Our six-week fall team portion was great, and we are looking forward to the next couple months of individual development."
Â
Kansas will open its season at Whataburger Field in Corpus Christi, Texas, for the fourth straight season. KU will take on Texas A&M-Corpus Christi in a four-game series that will commence on Feb. 14. The Jayhawks will stay in Texas for an extended opening road trip and play a three-game set at Tarleton State the next weekend.
Â
Hoglund Ballpark will host 27 games that begin on Feb. 27 against Omaha. The conference opener will be on March 14 against Baylor in Lawrence. Kansas will also welcome Oklahoma State and Kansas State for key Big 12 series. The finale of Kansas and Kansas State is scheduled to be played on Easter Sunday, April 20.
Â
The Jayhawks will play two neutral site games in Wichita, Kansas, early in the season. March 1 against Omaha and March 8 against UW-Milwaukee will be played at Riverfront Stadium, the home of the Minnesota Twins Double-A affiliate, the Wichita Wind Surge. The games will be played in Wichita due to men's basketball games happening on those days at Allen Fieldhouse.
Â
Kansas finished the 2024 season with an overall record of 31-23 and a 15-15 record in conference play. The 31 wins were the most for Kansas since 2019 and the 15 victories in Big 12 games were tied for the most in program history. Kansas posted a 16-9 record in the second half of the season.
Â
The top 12 teams in the conference regular season standings will advance to the 2025 Phillips 66 Big 12 Baseball Championship. The single-elimination tournament will be played at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, from May 21-24. Kansas advanced to the semifinals of the Big 12 Championship in 2024 for the first time since 2013 when the Jayhawks played in the title game.
Â
Kansas will be playing its 135th season of baseball when the team starts the season in February.
