TEMPE, Ariz. - No. 8 Kansas Volleyball is set to travel to Tempe to take on the No. 11 Arizona State Sun Devils in a battle for first place in the Big 12, Wednesday night inside Mullett Arena.Â
"Arizona State has consistently competed at a high level for the entirety of this season," said Kansas Head Coach Ray Bechard. "It will be a great challenge for our team, one I know they are looking forward to."
Kansas comes into Wednesday's match ranked eighth in the country, and on an 11-game win streak, dating back to the start of conference play, as the Jayhawks have a clean mark during Big 12 play. Kansas is also perfect on the road this season, as the team is 7-0 during road contests this season.Â
Arizona State marches into Wednesday night's contest on a win streak of their own, as the Sun Devils have rattled off ten straight wins in Big 12 play, as the team sits in second place in the Big 12, with a conference mark of 10-1, and an overall record of 22-2. Arizona State is 9-0 at home this season, and are coming off of two road wins against ranked BYU and Utah.
Kansas and Arizona State have only played volleyball against each other twice before Wednesday's headliner, which will also serve as an all-time series tiebreaker, as the teams have split in the prior two matchups. Kansas topped the Sun Devils in 2012 in a 3-1 victory, and Arizona State defeated Kansas in 2019 to even the all-time series.Â
Wednesday's match can be streamed on ESPN+, and fans can also follow along on Arizona State's StatBroadcast platform, as well as by following the Kansas Volleyball X Account for live updates during the match.Â
