Kansas Volleyball Earns AVCA Team Academic Award for Seventh Consecutive Season

For the seventh-straight season, Kansas Volleyball has been recognized by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) with the Team Academic Award, the organization announced Thursday.
LAWRENCE, Kan. -Â For the seventh-straight season, Kansas Volleyball has been recognized by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) with the Team Academic Award, the organization announced Thursday.
The honor, which celebrates collegiate volleyball programs maintaining a year-long grade-point average of 3.3 or higher, highlights the Jayhawks' continued success in the classroom. Kansas posted a 3.84 GPA during the 2025-26 academic year, setting a new program record. This marks the 15th time the Jayhawks have earned the AVCA Team Academic Award, including every year since 2019.
The AVCA Team Academic Award was created in 1992 and honors teams that display excellence in academic performance throughout the school year.
Kansas enters the 2026 season with momentum from a foundation of both academic and athletic success. The Jayhawks open the season at the Opening Spike Classic, taking on Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania on Friday, Aug. 28. Kansas will play 10 non-conference matches before opening Big 12 play against Houston on Friday Sept. 25 at Horejsi Family Volleyball Arena.Â
