LAWRENCE, Kan. – Head coach Linsday Kuhle and the Kansas women's golf program added Lavanya Gupta to the team's 2026 signing class, the team announced today.
Lavanya is from New Delhi, India, and is ranked 40th in class of 2026 ahead of KU signee Hannah Hall (46th) who just signed last month. Lavanya has five top 20 finishes in junior tournaments in the U.S., including two second places at the U.S. Kids tournament at Pinehurst in 2023 and the Palm Desert AJGA at PGA West.
"Lavanya is extremely hard working, and has a strong passion for the game of golf with aspirations of playing after graduating." Kuhle said, "She wants a school and program where she can compete against the best and develop. She's an excellent ball striker and long hitter. She is extremely competitive and has proven results internationally, both in Asia, India, as well as the U.S. the past few years. Lavanya has great touch around the green and when you combine that with her speed, power, distance, she has the ability to score low. We look for Lavanya to be a contributor on our team and help us have continued success on the course and in the classroom."
Lavanya is set to join a signing class with Hall and Elizabeth Wilson, who both signed with the Jayhawks in November. This is now the second time in four years that coach Kuhle has brought two players ranked inside the top 50 in their recruiting class in junior rankings.
