DALLAS – Kansas baseball received its first ranking since the 2014 season this week with the Jayhawks coming in at No. 22 in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) poll that was released on Monday.

Kansas is off to its best 20-game start in program history with a 17-3 overall record. The Jayhawks have won each of their first five weekend series for the first time since 2003.

The Jayhawks won their opening Big 12 series this past weekend by taking two out of three games against Baylor. The Jayhawks outscored the Bears, who were 13-3 coming into the weekend, by a combined score of 30-17 and hit nine home runs over the weekend. Kansas has won its opening conference series in back-to-back seasons for the first time since 2013 and 2014.

KU leads the Big 12 and is third in the nation with 46 home runs this season.
Jackson Hauge, who leads the team with 11 home runs this season, which is tied for third in the nation, was named Big 12 Player of the Week on Monday.

Kansas (17-3, 2-1 Big 12) will play four games in Arizona this week, beginning on Tuesday at Arizona in a non-conference game at 8 p.m. CT and then a three-game conference series at Arizona State from March 21-23.
