TULSA, Okla. – The Kansas men's golf team finished 10th at the 2025 Big 12 Championship at Southern Hills Country Club, posting a final-round team score of 284 (+4) on Thursday — their best 18-hole score of the week by eight strokes.
"We played better today, which was nice to see," said Kansas head coach
Jamie Bermel. "Gunnar (Broin) played really well today, and Luke (Honner) and Will (King) were steady all 72 holes. Max (Jelinek) came back in the lineup and posted a decent score. Ty (Lasley) didn't have his best today, but played well the first three rounds."
No. 4 Oklahoma State claimed the conference championship title, finishing as the only team under par at -2. No. 5 Arizona State followed in second at +9, while No. 33 Texas Tech rounded out the top three at +28. Preston Stout of Oklahoma State earned medalist honors, finishing the championship at -3.
Gunnar Broin led the way for Kansas with a final-round 67 (-3), vaulting 18 spots on the leaderboard to finish tied for 17th individually. Broin came out strong with a birdie on his opening hole and added another on the par-3 14th, playing 230 yards. He made the turn at one under and picked up three more birdies on the back nine, finishing the day at three under par and the tournament at +8.
Will King turned in a steady round of even-par 70, using three birdies and 12 pars. His front nine was clean, highlighted by a birdie on the 632-yard, par-5 13th. King wrapped up the championship at +12, tied for 34th.
Luke Honner carded a 74 (+4) in his final round, recording 11 pars and two birdies. He concluded the tournament tied for 41st at +14.
Ty Lasley notched two birdies in his final round but also ran into trouble down the stretch, finishing with a 77 (+7). He ended the championship at +20 and T58.
Max Jelinek stepped in as a substitute for the final round. He finished with a solid 73 (+3) that included two birdies.
