LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas tennis was represented by three selections to the 2025 All-Big 12 Tennis teams, the Big 12 Conference announced Wednesday afternoon, highlighted by a pair of All-Big 12 First Team recognitions.
Kansas' selections included All-Big 12 First Team singles selection
Gracie Mulville, All-Big 12 First Team doubles duo of Mulville and
Heike Janse van Vuuren and All-Big 12 Second Team singles selection
Kyoka Kubo.
Mulville was one of 12 selections to the All-Big 12 First Team Singles, marking her first-career All-Big 12 honor. Mulville has led the Jayhawks with a 14-7 record in singles this spring, including a 7-5 mark in Big 12 singles on court one. Mulville has ranked as high as No. 67 in the ITA singles rankings this spring.
In doubles, the duo of Mulville and van Vuuren have led the Jayhawks on court one with a 14-8 overall record this spring and are currently ranked No. 26 in the latest ITA doubles rankings. The All-Big 12 doubles honor marks the first for both Mulville and van Vuuren as they are one of six duos named to the All-Big 12 First Team in doubles.
Sophomore
Kyoka Kubo earned her second-career All-Big 12 honor, being named All-Big 12 Second Team in singles. Kubo holds a 14-6 record in singles play this spring, including an 8-3 mark in Big 12 play. Following the 2024 season, Kubo was named to the All-Big 12 Rookie Team and was later named ITA Central Region Rookie of the Year.
The Jayhawks were recently selected to the NCAA Tennis Tournament for the 14
th time in program history, including the 7
th time under Head Coach
Todd Chapman. Kansas will travel to Chapel Hill, North Carolina to take on South Carolina on Friday, May 2 at 12 p.m. CT.
If Kansas defeats South Carolina, the Jayhawks will take on the winner of North Carolina vs. VCU on Saturday, May 4 at 3 p.m. CT. The NCAA Super Regionals will then take place from May 9-11 with the NCAA Team Championship taking place May 15-18 at the Hurd Tennis Center in Waco, Texas.
