LAWRENCE, Kan. – The No. 63-ranked Kansas women's tennis team will travel to Texas for two ranked matches this weekend, starting on Friday, March 13 against No. 19 TCU in Fort Worth, Texas at 4:30 p.m., and ending on Sunday, March 15 against No. 44 Baylor in Waco, Texas at 1 p.m.
Kansas comes into the match with a 6-6 record and 2-1 mark in conference play after defeating Iowa State, 4-2, on March 7. The Jayhawks are 2-2 against ranked opponents this season.
The Jayhawks have two players ranked in this weeks' ITA rankings. Kyoka Kubo is ranked at No. 45 in singles, and currently sits at 5-3 this season. Kubo joins Heike Janse van Vuuren in the doubles rankings, as they are ranked No. 53. The pair is 4-1 on the season.Â
Van Vuuren is currently 7-3 in singles play and she has won five of her last six matches, with the lone match going unfinished. Meg McCarty has started the season 5-2 in singles play and is 4-2 in doubles play with her partner van Vuuren.
