LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas baseball sophomore infielder
Brady Ballinger was selected as a 2025 ABCA/Rawlings Third Team All-American on Friday. The All-American honor is the third for Ballinger after receiving second team honors from NCBWA and third team from Perfect Game earlier this week.
Â
Ballinger led Kansas in many offensive categories, including batting average (.353), walks (56), OPS (1.165), runs scored (71), hits (79), doubles (21), total bases (150), multi-hit games (24) and multi-walk games (16). Those numbers landed Ballinger in the Kansas single-season record book as his 71 runs were second most in school history, his 56 walks tied for second in program history and his 150 total bases were the sixth most ever in a season by a Jayhawk.
Â
A native of Las Vegas, Nevada, Ballinger ended the regular season first in the Big 12 in walks, tied for first in runs scored and doubles, second in on-base percentage, slugging percentage and total bases, fourth in batting average and hits and seventh in home runs. Ballinger finished the season with 16 home runs, which tied for the fifth most in school history.
Â
Ballinger is the first to be named an ABCA All-American since Tony Thompson in 2009. Ballinger's three All-American recognitions are the most since Thompson had four outlets name him an All-American in 2009.
Â
Kansas finished the 2025 season with a 43-17 overall record and qualified for its first NCAA Tournament since 2014, in one of the most historic years in school history. The Jayhawks set program records in regular season wins (42), Big 12 wins (20), conference wins (20), conference series wins (seven), conference series sweeps (five), road wins (20), come-from-behind wins (26) and home runs (104).
