LAWRENCE, Kan. – The Kansas Jayhawks are headed to Bramlage Coliseum in Manhattan, Kansas, on Saturday, Feb. 21, for the second edition of the Dillons Sunflower Showdown against Kansas State.

Tipoff is set for 4 p.m. CT and the game will be broadcast on ESPN+, with Matt Walters (play-by-play) and Missy Heidrick (analyst) on the call. Fans can also listen on the Jayhawk Radio Network from Learfield, with Steven Davis calling the action.

Kansas (16-11, 6-9 Big 12) had the week off following its 85-68 victory over Houston on Feb. 14 at Allen Fieldhouse. The win was KU's third in the past four games as the Jayhawks improved to 11-4 at home this season. Despite being three games under .500 in conference play, the Jayhawks have a positive scoring margin of +2.1 points per game in league play.

The Jayhawks previously claimed home wins over BYU (81-60) on Feb. 4 and Cincinnati (80-71) on Feb. 7. Kansas is currently ranked No. 50 in the NCAA's NET Rankings, which ranks eighth among Big 12 schools, with three games remaining in the regular season.

Kansas is set for its second matchup of the season against Kansas State. The Jayhawks previously defeated the Wildcats 83-61 on Jan. 25 in Lawrence, marking KU's first 20-point win over Kansas State since 1999. Kansas now heads to Manhattan in search of its first win over the Wildcats at Bramlage Coliseum since 2019 and first season sweep of KSU since the 2012-13 season.

Kansas State improved to 15-13 (8-7 Big 12) with a 93-67 victory at UCF on Wednesday evening. The Wildcats have won three of their last four games. Kansas State ranks 11th in the Big 12, scoring 69.9 points per game while holding opponents to 65.6 points on average. The Wildcats are led by three players scoring in double figures: Taryn Sides (12.9 ppg), Nastja Claessens (11.8) and Tess Heal (10.6).

Kansas freshman forward
Jaliya Davis made Big 12 Conference history on Tuesday as she was named the Big 12 Freshman of the Week for the seventh straight week. Davis now holds the longest streak of consecutive Big 12 Freshman of the Week awards, surpassing the previous best of six straight by Kansas State's Ayoka Lee during the 2019-20 season.

Kansas had four players score in double figures in the Houston win, which was the Jayhawks' highest-scoring game in Big 12 play this season. Davis led the way with 25 points, while junior guard
S'Mya Nichols added 22 points and a season-high nine assists. Senior guard
Elle Evans hit 4-of-7 three-pointers and finished with 18 points, while senior forward
Lilly Meister recorded her third double-double of the season with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Kansas is now 5-2 this season when at least four players score in double figures.

Nichols, the No. 4 scorer in the Big 12 at 17.8 points per game, was 8-for-8 from the free throw line against Houston and she has made her last 25 free throw attempts, dating back to the third quarter of KU's win over BYU on Feb. 4. KU's all-time leader in free throws made, Nichols has now moved up to seventh in Big 12 history with 568 in her career.Â

Davis recorded her 12th 20-point game of the year in the win over Houston. A former McDonald's All-American, Davis is No. 2 in the Big 12, averaging 22.4 points per game, while leading the league in field goal percentage by shooting 63.4 percent (116-183).

Evans recorded her fifth-straight game with multiple threes made against Houston. Evans leads the nation in three-point accuracy, hitting 50.0 percent (63-126) from downtown. In the Houston game, she moved into the top 10 in Kansas history for both 3FG made in a career made (132) and single season (63).

Meister has scored in double figures in three of the past four games, and she's coming off her third double-double of the season. Meister has scored in double figures 12 times this season and she's averaging 9.1 points per game while leading the Jayhawks with 6.7 rebounds per game. Meister also recorded double-doubles vs. Minnesota (11 pts/10 reb) on Nov. 19 and at Baylor (11 pts/10 reb) on Jan. 11.
