Kansas vs. Missouri Set for Friday Night Battle on National Television

LAWRENCE, Kan. – The Kansas Jayhawks will host Missouri at David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium on Friday, Sept. 11 on national television. The game was originally scheduled for Sept. 12. The kickoff time and tv designation for the matchup will be announced at a later date.

The StorageMart Border Showdown will be the first game played in Lawrence between the two schools since 2005, while the rivalry was reignited in 2025 in Columbia, Mo.

The Kansas vs. Missouri rivalry has been played 121 times dating back to 1891, which is tied for the 10th-most played rivalry in all of college football. Kansas owns the all-time series lead in games played in Lawrence, 26-16-3, while Missouri holds a slight advantage in the all-time series, 57-55-9.

Kansas' matchup with Missouri is the second game on the 2026 slate for the Jayhawks, as Kansas will host Long Island for the season opener on Friday, Sept. 4. Kansas will play six games at David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium in 2026, including Long Island (Sept. 4), Missouri (Sept. 11), Middle Tennessee for Family Weekend (Oct. 3), Baylor for Homecoming (Oct. 24), UCF (Nov. 7) and BYU (Nov. 21).
