Tyson LeBlanc was named the Big 12 Player of the Week and the Big 12 Newcomer of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday. LeBlanc has now received Big 12 Newcomer of the Week in back-to-back weeks.

LeBlanc hit .529/.636/1.235 (9-for-17), with three doubles, three home runs, 10 RBIs, seven runs scored and five walks with a 1.871 OPS in a perfect 4-0 week at Missouri and versus Utah. He connected on a home run in three of the four games and has hit nine home runs in the last 12Â games.

The Maurice, Louisiana, native had a walk-off two-run homer in a 14-12 comeback victory in Thursday's game against Utah, a go-ahead three-run home run to break an 8-8 tie in the 8th inning at Missouri and a go-ahead two-run homer in the 6th inning on Saturday when trailing Utah 8-7.

LeBlanc hit safely in all four games, while scoring at least one run and driving in at least one RBI in every game. He brought in multiple RBIs in three of the four games.

Over the last 15 contests, LeBlanc is batting .450/.539/1.000 (27-for-60), with four doubles, one triple, nine home runs, 26 RBIs, 26 runs scored and 14 walks with a 1.539 OPS. That stretch has raised his season batting average from .194 to .320.
He currently leads the team in home runs (12), RBI (39), total bases (85), slugging percentage (.697), stolen bases (6) and is tied for the most runs scored (36). LeBlanc's 12 home runs are tied for fifth in the Big 12, his 85 total bases are eighth in the conference and his 39 RBIs and .697 slugging percentage are 10th best in the league.

LeBlanc is only the second Kansas player in program history to earn Big 12 Player of the Week and Big 12 Newcomer of Week honors in the same week. Caleb Upshaw won both awards on May 6, 2022. He is also only the second KU player ever to receive Big 12 Newcomer of the Week in consecutive weeks, with the other being Jordan Piche' during the 2013 season.

LeBlanc is the 24th player in Kansas history to win Big 12 Player of the Week. The Jayhawks have won four weekly awards this season, with three of them being claimed by LeBlanc and the other going to
Mathis Nayral as Big 12 Pitcher of the Week on March 30.

Kansas (22-10, 9-3 Big 12) is slated to play four games this week against ranked opponents. The Jayhawks will travel to No. 19 Nebraska on Tuesday before hosting No. 12 UCF for a weekend series at Hoglund Ballpark.
