LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas volleyball came in ranked at No. 15 in the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) preseason poll, the organization announced Monday.
The Jayhawks ended their 2025 season with a final AVCA ranking of No. 14 after falling to then No. 1 Nebraska in straight sets in the Sweet 16. Kansas spent the entirety of the 2025 season in the Top 25 for the third consecutive year.
Earlier today, Kansas was picked third in the Big 12 Preseason Poll. The Jayhawks notched three Big 12 preseason individual honors, with
Reese Messer and
Reese Ptacek named to the All-Big 12 Preseason Team and
Taylor Stanley named the Preseason Freshman of the Year.
KU will open its 2026 season on August 28 with a match against No. 4 Pittsburgh at the Opening Spike Tournament in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
