LAWRENCE, Kan. - Kansas junior midfielder
London De Fini has been selected to the TopDrawerSoccer's Women's Team of the Week, the publication announced Tuesday. De Fini is one of 11 Division I women's soccer players selected to the team.
A native of Gretna, Nebraska, De Fini helped the Jayhawks to a 2-0 record last week with shut out wins over Utah State (Aug. 12) and Missouri State (Aug. 16). She set new career highs with three assists and five points in the 7-0 record-breaking victory over Missouri State. De Fini was one of five goal scorers in the match, helping Kansas score its most goals against a Division I opponent in program history.Â
De Fini also anchored the defense that conceded one shot against the Bears, tying a program record for the fewest number of shots conceded. Kansas also recorded shutouts in back-to-back matches to start the season for the first time since 2020.
No. 12 Kansas takes on No. 19 Ohio State on Thursday, August 20 in Columbus, Ohio. The match is slated to begin at 4 p.m. CT.
