Kansas Moves to No. 17 in IWSOC Top 25 Coaches Poll

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas soccer remained in the top 20 in both national rankings this week, coming in at No. 17 in the Intercollegiate Women's Soccer Organization for Coaches (IWSOC) poll and No. 14 in the TopDrawerSoccer poll.
Kansas has now been ranked inside the top 20 of the IWSOC rankings for three consecutive weeks for the first time since 2019. Last week, the Jayhawks were ranked No. 12 in the poll, which is the program's highest ranking under third-year head coach Nate Lie. Kansas is in a three-way tie for No. 17 with UCLA and Georgia.
The Jayhawks went 1-1 last week, moving their season record to 3-1. KU dropped its first match of the season with a 1-0 setback on Aug. 20 at Ohio State, who's ranked No. 8 in the IWSOC poll this week. Kansas scored a flurry of goals late in a 3-1 win over Kent State on Aug. 23 in Kent, Ohio. Jillian Gregorski scored two goals for the Jayhawks in the span of two minutes, while Caroline Castans added the team's other goal. The two have both scored three goals this season, which leads the team.
Next up for No. 17 Kansas is a trip to Orem, Utah to take on Utah Valley on Thursday, August 27. The match is slated to begin at 8 p.m. CT. KU returns home to Rock Chalk Park on Sunday, Aug. 30 for Junior Jayhawks Day against Tulsa. The match will begin at 1 p.m. CT.
