CINCINNATI, Ohio – Kansas soccer begins Big 12 Conference play on Friday, Sept. 18 against the Cincinnati Bearcats at 6 p.m. CT. The match will be played at Gettler Stadium in Cincinnati and broadcast on ESPN+.

"Conference play is a new chapter for us, and we know going on the road to Cincinnati is going to be a tough challenge," Kansas head coach Nate Lie said. "We have to carry the confidence we've built through the non-conference season while understanding that the intensity and importance of every match goes up from here. We look to start conference play strong and to get better each day."

Kansas picked up its third-straight win on Sept. 12, defeating Saint Louis 1-0 on the road. KU had multiple chances to score throughout the match, but couldn't get a goal until the 86th minute when Marit McLaughlin scored the deciding goal. Kansas outshot Saint Louis 16-3 in the match, which is fourth fewest shots conceded this season. The Jayhawks have outshot their opponent in every match this season, and have only conceded 17 shots in their last five matches.

Kansas soccer moved up to No. 18 in the TopDrawerSoccer poll this week. The Jayhawks have been ranked in every TDS poll this season, in 12 straight polls overall and 19 of the last 23 weeks, dating back to last season.Â
KU is 11-16-3 in conference openers all-time, including a 1-1-0 mark under Lie. Last season, the Jayhawks opened conference play with a 1-0 win at Oklahoma State on Sept. 18, 2025.Â
Livvy Moore leads the Big 12 with six assists, a mark that is tied for eighth in the country. Jillian Gregorski and Caroline Castans are tied for the team lead and rank seventh in the Big 12 with four goals each. Kansas is fifth in the Big 12 with 57 points, while ranking fourth in the Big 12 in both goals (19) and assists (19).
ABOUT CINCINNATI
Cincinnati enters Big 12 play with a 2-2-3 record after playing to a scoreless draw against Eastern Illinois on Sept. 13. The Bearcats are led by Tiana Campbell, who has scored three goals this season. In goal, Amber Brandon has started all seven matches and has recorded 12 saves and has a goals against average of 0.71. She is tied for second in the Big 12 in shutouts with three. Cincinnati was picked to finish 15th in the Big 12 Preseason Poll.

Kansas leads the all-time series over Cincinnati 3-0-1, and has a 1-0-1 advantage in matches played in Cincinnati, Ohio. The last matchup between the Jayhawks and Bearcats came on Oct. 19, 2025 in Lawrence, where Kansas scored late in the second half to win 1-0.
