What is the significance behind your jersey number?- My dad wore #54 when he was playing so it reminds me of him when I wear it.Â
Who is your biggest role model?
- My parents because of their constant support of myself and my siblings. I'm so appreciative of their impact on my life.Â
- Tre Smith is someone I like to model my game after. He is a great athlete and fierce competitor.
Tell us about your hometown/where you're from?
- I'm from Chicago and it's a city like no other. I think you have to be built differently to come up in the city. You live like no other.
Career Honors: 2024: Second Team All-Big 12 (OL).
2024: Started all 12 games at guard for the Jayhawks.... Helped pave the way for 211.4 rushing yards per game, while allowing just 10 sacks as a unit in 2024.
2023: Started in 11 games and was a key part of the offensive line during his redshirt junior season for the Jayhawks.
2022: at West Virginia: Started for the Jayhawks on the offensive line … Has not allowed a sack through two games … at Houston: Made the start on the offensive line in win over the Cougars … Has not allowed a sack through first three games of the season … Duke: Saw game time on the offensive line in win over the Blue Devils … Iowa State: Started on the offensive line for the Jayhawks in win over the Cyclones … TCU: Started on the offensive line for the Jayhawks … at Oklahoma: Started at offensive line against the Sooners … at Baylor: Started at offensive line against the Bears … Oklahoma State: Did not allow a sack against the Cowboys … at Texas Tech: Started on the offensive line for the Jayhawks … Texas: Started on the offensive line for the Jayhawks … Did not allow a sack against the Longhorns … at Kansas State: Started on the offensive line for the Jayhawks.
2021: Started at right guard on the offensive line in 11 of 12 games for the Jayhawks… Made his first KU start at guard at Costal Carolina, and started every remaining game after that…Also saw time at right tackle in season opener against South Dakota…Was part of an offensive line that allowed just 16 sacks in 12 games…Helped lead the way for running back Devin Neal, who averaged 4.5 yards per carry on 158 totes, while scoring eight rushing touchdowns.
2020 (at Buffalo): Utilized his redshirt season his first year with the Bulls.
High School: Offensive lineman who prepped at Homewood-Flossmoor High School in Illinois… A 2019 Chicago Tribune Southtown Football All-Area Second Team selection… 2019 SWSC All-Conference selection… Dual-sport standout at Homewood-Flossmoor, also shining in wrestling… Went 24-8 at heavyweight and was named SWSC All-Conference in 2018.
