Get to Know Christian ...
What's the significance behind your jersey number?
- I’ve been wearing 32 any chance I could since about fourth grade. I had to choose between 24 and 32, and I went with 32 because Blake Griffin was playing for the Clippers and dunking everything at that time.
-
My dad coached my sister when I was younger, so I was always in the gym with them. Ever since then, I’ve pretty much always had a basketball in my hands.
Any pregame rituals or superstitions?
- Two days before a game, I try to keep everything the same unless I need to change something for hydration or recovery. I keep the same routine, from the order of the songs I listen to on the way to the gym, to the shoes I wear before the game and during the game. Sometimes I add things throughout the season if I notice it.
Tell us about your favorite basketball moment as a player or fan.
-
It’s hard to pick just one moment, but my whole journey through college battling adversity to get where I am now has meant a lot to me.
Who do you model your game off of?
-
There isn’t one specific player I model my game after. I like to watch players with a similar build to mine and take parts of their games, whether they played in college or the NBA, both past and present.
Who's your favorite basketball player?
-
I’d say Stephen Curry. He’s from Charlotte, changed the game, has had a lot of success, and is someone you can look up to both on and off the court.
