ESPN The Magazine Academic All-American Second Team, Academic All-District First Team, Academic All-Big 12 First Team, National and Big 12 Player of the Week (3/18), Athletic Director[apos]s Honor Roll; (2007): Academic All-Big 12 First Team, Athletic Director[apos]s Honor Roll.The Jayhawks[apos] third baseman and one of two players to start all 56 games… Led the team with a .503 slugging percentage, nine home runs, eighth on KU[apos]s single-season record list, 37 RBIs, seventh in a KU single-season, and 125 assists… Second on the squad with a .303 batting average and 50 hits… Also cracked KU[apos]s single-season top 10 list with 40 runs scored… 12-for-13 in stolen base attempts… Finished with a team-best nine multi-RBI games… Also had 14 multiple-hit contests… Second on the team with 11 RBIs in conference play… Had two hitting streaks of five games… Batted .647 with runners on third and less than two outs… Collected a career-high three hits on five occasions… Team went 22-9 when Chapple batted in the third spot… Tied a school-record with three home runs against Buffalo (3/14)… Also batted in a career-best six runs versus the Bulls.

Kansas[apos] starting third baseman… One of just four Jayhawks to play and start all 58 contests… Academic All-Big 12 First Team selection… Named to Athletic Director[apos]s honor roll… Tallied two or more hits in six games… Had 35 hits for a .222 batting average… Hit .382 when leading off an inning… Had six games with two or more hits… Second on the team with 10 doubles and fourth with 18 runs scored… Recorded a team-high 123 assists… Had a four-game hitting streak twice… Turned four double plays… Successfully stole seven bases in nine attempts… Tallied a team-high seven assists versus San Diego State (2/10)… Had the game-winning RBI against Drake (3/9)… Also stole a career-best two bases… Recorded an RBI in a 2-1 win over Creighton (4/26)… Had a home run at Iowa State on May 5.
2006 (Fr.)
Started in 61 of KU[apos]s 62 games at third base as a freshman… Hit in the lead-off spot for most of the year with 184 at-bats, just one behind the team lead… Led the team with four hit by pitches… Compiled nine multi-hit games… Drew 17 walks and notched 15 RBI… Hit .228, the best of any Jayhawk freshman… Totaled 11 doubles on the year, the second most on the squad… Smacked her first home run in a Jayhawk uniform against No. 3 UCLA (2/25)… Recorded three runs and three RBIs against Northern Iowa on March 3… Stole her first base versus Cal Poly (2/17)… Had a season-high four putouts against Central Michigan (2/17)… Made a diving catch against Oklahoma in the Big 12 Championship game to save a run and end a crucial inning.
Olathe East High School
A three-time all-state selection at Olathe East… First team Louisville Slugger/NFCA All-American in 2004 and second team Louisville Slugger/NFCA All-American in 2005… Also an NFCA Academic All-American… 2005 National High School Coaches Association Softball Player of the Year… Led her team to back-to-back state championships in 2004 and 2005, including an undefeated season in 2005 (25-0)… Named 2005 Gatorade Player of the Year in the state of Kansas… Holds school single season records in hits (55), triples (10) and RBIs (41)… Coached by Jeff Hulse.

Personal
Parents are Larry and Sharon Chapple… Has one brother, Andy… Majoring in secondary physics education… Favorite thing about softball at KU is playing in the Big 12 against the best teams in the country… Was also recruited by Southern Illinois and Wichita State.
