Bio

Rachelle Pauly enters her second season as an assistant coach on the Kansas rowing staff. Being the newest addition to the coaching staff, Pauly brings a great breadth of teaching and coaching experience to the program to add to her previous rowing knowledge. Pauly will be primarily focusing on the recruitment of in-state athletes in addition to coaching the Blue Group Novice boat.

Pauly was a member of the Kansas Rowing team from 2007-2011 where she was also recognized for her academic achievement making the Big 12 Academic Honor Roll from 2008-2011. Pauly began her college career at Cowley County Community College where she was a member of the track team and earned seventh place in the javelin at Nationals, earning the honor of All-American. Following her time at Cowley County Community College, Pauly spent her freshman year at KU rowing for the novice team. Her sophomore year, Pauly was a member of the Open Four at the Kansas Cup and a member of the Second Varsity Eight against Texas. Her junior season, Pauly rowed with the Second Varsity Eight for the entire season except the South-Central Regional where she rowed with the Varsity Four. Her junior season was highlighted by the defeat of Kansas State in the Kansas Cup and finishing second in the Big 12 Championship. Pauly’s senior year she served the team as captain and rowed for the Second Varsity Eight, but finished the season in the First Varsity Four.

Pauly graduated from the University of Kansas in May of 2010 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Education with a focus on middle school mathematics. Following her undergraduate studies, Pauly went on to receive her Masters of Curriculum and Teaching in May of 2012, also from KU. Pauly has utilized her degrees to teach middle school and high school mathematics at Tonganoxie USD 464 from the fall of 2012 to the spring of 2015. Currently Pauly teaches Pre-Algebra and Algebra at Chisholm Trail Middle School USD 233.

Along with her rowing experience, Pauly has a history of coaching. At Tonganoxie High school, Pauly has been the head girls track coach and assistant girls’ volleyball and basketball coach. Additionally, she has had experience as the head coach for the 8th grade girls’ volleyball team and assistant 8th grade girls’ basketball and track team at Tonganoxie Middle school. Along with assisting in rowing, Pauly currently assists in coaching girls’ volleyball and track at Chisholm Trail Middle school. To add to her repertoire, Pauly has spent a year as the girls’ athletic director at Camp Lenox in 2014 and has coached club volleyball for the Midwest Juniors located in Wellsville, Kansas.
