Maya Ozery, Ph.D., serves as Senior Associate Athletics Director for Student-Athlete Development and Organizational Engagement at Kansas Athletics, a role she has held since September 2021, with her responsibilities expanded in Summer 2024. In this capacity, she leads comprehensive strategic initiatives that support student-athlete excellence while fostering organizational engagement practices across Kansas Athletics, working with student-athletes, coaches, staff, and key stakeholders. Ozery also provides oversight as sport administrator for the Swimming & Diving and Rowing programs.
Prior to Kansas, Ozery served as Executive Director of the Cooper Athletics Leadership Program at Georgetown University, where she developed internal and external partnerships to advance the department's mission and created signature programs for coaches and student-athletes. As sport administrator, she supported Georgetown's men's soccer program that won the 2019 NCAA National Championship, while overseeing field hockey and men's and women's tennis programs.
Ozery previously served as Director of Leadership and Development at the University of Richmond and Assistant Athletics Director for Academic and Leadership Development at Longwood University.
Ozery has worked as a strategic consultant with the NCAA, the Institute for Sport and Social Justice, professional sports organizations, university athletic departments, and conference offices. Her academic experience includes designing and teaching courses on sport, social justice, and management as an adjunct instructor at Georgetown University.
She has been selected for leadership programs including the CALS Female Executive Scholarship, Women Leaders in Sports Leadership Enhancement Institute and the Institute for Advancement, and the NCAA Minority Education Series.
A former captain of Israel's U-19 National Women's Soccer Team and member of the senior national team, Ozery competed collegiately at Florida International University and Barry University. She holds a Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership, M.S. in Sports and Exercise Psychology, and B.S. in Psychology.
