At what age did you start swimming and how did you get into the sport?
- I started swimming when I was 5 because I needed the lessons. Once I turned 7, my mom put me and my brother on the roster for the “Sioux Falls Seals” where I began my competitive career.
What routines do you practice before a big race to help you focus and stay ready?
- Before races I like to joke around with my teammates, listen to music and slap my arms and legs.
What is something that someone wouldn't know about you?
- I don’t like papaya and eggplant.
What sport would you play if you did not swim and why?
- I would be a power lifter because I love lifting, especially bench press.
What advice would you give to young athletes who are just starting out in swimming?
- Your performance as an athlete does not define you as a person.
Who is a role model in your life that pushed you to be better in and out of the pool?
- My role model is my brother. He has an incredible drive and a positive mindset.
2024-25 (Freshman)
- Had a pair of runner-up finishes in the 100 free (53.61) and in the 200 free relay at the Sunflower Showdown on October 4.
- Member of the 400 medley relay that placed second at the Illinois Dual on October 10.
- Helped the 200 free relay to a win over South Dakota on October 25.
- Assisted the 200 medley relay to a victory against Rockhurst on Dec. 7
- Helped the 400 freestyle relay to a third place finish at Houston on Jan. 11
- Assisted the 400 freestyle relay to a runner-up finish at Arkansas on Jan. 24
- Notched a pair of podium finishes with a second place in the 100 free (51.75) and third in the 100 breast (30.45) against Iowa State on Feb. 7
- Posted a lifetime best of 2:04.98 in the 200 IM at the Big 12 Championship
