Get to Know Riley ...
Why did you choose KU?-
I chose KU because of the awesome traditions, beautiful campus, and welcoming community. I also have family alumni, and I’ve been a Jayhawk since birth, even in Bear-town Baylor. Rock Chalk!
How did you get introduced to rowing?
- I was sent a mass email a couple of weeks before school from Coach Hovis and it seemed interesting so I decided to go to the zoom meeting (2021 covid era) and one thing led to another and I was a preferred walk on with a scholarship by the time school started.
Favorite thing to do in Lawrence?
- I love to go to Sylas and Maddy’s to get a sweet treat with my friends and family. We always get our ice cream and – if the season allows – go sit outside and people watch.
- I like to braid my hair in a cool style and put on my hat with the sunglasses on top while listening to my favorite music.

- Raced between the two and four seats in the 3 Varsity 8+
- Helped the 3 Varsity 8+ to a runner-up finish at the Big 12 Championship

- Assisted the 1 Varsity 4+ boat to a first-place finish in the Petite Final at the Sarasota Invitational
- Earned Spring Academic All-Big 12

- Assisted the 3 Varisty 8+ boat to a second-place finish at the Big 12 Championship
