"I look forward to these opportunities of clashing styles," head coach Nate Lie said. "This is one of those matchups where something has to give or maybe it's a push and pull all through the evening. We have to do our job to prepare for them specifically and any sort of nuances that we might see."
Â
Kansas (12-5-4, 6-4-1 Big 12) is riding a season-long seven-match winning streak into the championship, including a 2-1 victory against No. 17 Texas Tech on Wednesday night in the semifinals. The Jayhawks are the only team in the country with three neutral site wins this season and are one of seven Division I programs with at least nine road/neutral wins this year.
Â
Kansas has had different players step up throughout the season and that has continued in the tournament.
Raena Knust came off the bench and scored the first goal in the 41st minute on Wednesday night against Texas Tech after not playing in the first two matches of the tournament.
Olivia Page then scored the game-winning goal for the Jayhawks in the 50th minute, which marked her first goal of the season.
