LAWRENCE, Kan. – Head coach
Carrie Cook-Callen announced the Kansas women's rowing program's spring 2025 schedule on Wednesday highlighted by two home and two away regular season races.
"Our team has been pretty pleased with how our fall season went from both a training and racing perspective," said Cook-Callen. "If we continue the trend of the fall we should have a great chance to race well amongst some great programs we have lined up on our spring schedule."
Unofficial competition begins on February 23 with a scrimmage against University of San Diego hosted in Chula Vista, California. The Jayhawks will flock southeast a month later to officially begin the spring racing season at the Sunshine State Invitational on March 28-29 in Sarasota, Florida. They will face off against schools all across the Division I level including Big 12 foes Kansas State and UCF. The crew returns home to host a double dual against Minnesota and Iowa on April 11-12 held at Wyandotte County Lake in Kansas City, Kansas.
Following a two-week break, Kansas makes its way back to the east coast for the Lake Wheeler Invite in Raleigh, North Carolina, from April 25-26. The event features 18 teams composed of Boston College, Boston University, Bucknell, Clemson, Columbia, Duke, Georgetown, Gonzaga, Jacksonville, Louisville, Miami, Navy, Tulsa, UNC, URI, UVA and Washington State.
The Jayhawks conclude the regular season with home action on May 3, as it welcomes Kansas State for the annual Dillons Sunflower Showdown in Kansas City, Kansas.
They'll return to Sarasota, Florida, for the Big 12 Championship on May 18 to vie against Kansas State, West Virginia, UCF and newcomers Tulsa and Old Dominion for the 2025 Big 12 title.
Based upon either the automatic qualification of a conference championship or one of the 11 available at large bids, Kansas can extend its postseason and chase after an NCAA Championship from May 30-June 1 at West Windsor, New Jersey.
Kansas rowing had the best fall racing season in program history as it finished in the top-10 of all its races and had a winning boat of half of them, including at the
Head of the Oklahoma and the
Head of the Charles, the world's largest three-day regatta.
